TIP SHEET: Job recruiting -- Cleary hosting event
August 29, 2005 Cleary University invites business owners in southeast Michigan to sign up for its 2005 Annual Career Fair in early October. Area businesses will be able to recruit job candidates with backgrounds in accounting, manufacturing, management, sales, service, marketing, health care, finance and engineering. The 2005 Career Fair will be held on two days during Cleary's weeklong Founders Day celebration: • Monday, Oct. 3, at Cleary's Livingston campus, 3750 Cleary Drive, Howell. • Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Cleary's Washtenaw campus, 3601 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor. The Career Fair is 3-8 p.m. both days. The cost is $220 for one day or $320 for both days. The registration price includes a table, refreshments and all promotional materials. The number of openings is limited. Participants are urged to reserve their spot well in advance. For more information, contact Ann Marie Hardesty at 800-686-1883 or ahardesty@cleary.edu . MARRIAGE FINANCES Find wedding coordinator Planning a wedding, like creating a loving relationship, takes time. Often, locations need to be selected and reserved a year in advance, as do bands, caterers, photographers, rooms, flowers, dresses and the multitude of other things that make a wedding special. Enter the wedding coordinator. Says Susan Price, a retired coordinator in San Luis Obispo, Calif.: "Young couples think that just because they're organized, they can do it all. Being organized is only a part of bringing off a happy, memorable wedding. Unfortunately, those who plan to do it themselves become stressed out. There are myriad things they don't plan for since they've not done them before." A wedding coordinator is not unlike a financial planner. This professional can be as hands on or off as you need. By going through professional contacts, your coordinator can save you money by securing discounted rates that you couldn't have gotten on your own. She or he will also protect you from hiring people who aren't as professional as they claim to be. You can get a list of wedding coordinators in your area by visiting BridalAssn.com www.bridalassn.com and filling out a form.
